The Mountain.
Around five kilometres south of Copenhagen’s city centre, Ørestad is an urban jungle of exotic architecture. A new town concept under development, it is a place with innovation written into its DNA.
Rising into Ørestad’s skyline is the distinctive Mountain Dwellings, designed by architectural firms PLOT, BIG and JDS. It’s home to 80 single-level penthouses, each neatly stacked so that one apartment’s roof provides another’s garden.
Beneath, a labyrinth of stairways, colourways and passageways makes this a carpark with a difference. Pedestrians arrive in the same way as drivers; welcomed by the colourful corridors of the building’s underbelly. In the Mountain Dwellings, form is function.
