The Bahá’í Temple of South America.

Place, and places of worship, are a central cornerstone in many religions.

For the Bahá’í Faith, this holds particularly true. An inclusive religion that welcomes all faiths and interpretations of God, Bahá’í encourages reflection, peace and unity. In this goal, its places of worship are crucial: temples must invite people in; they must inspire positivity and revelation; they must be beautiful.

Despite there being over 6 million Bahá’í followers around the world, there are only eight Bahá’í temples – one for each continent.

The mountains of Santiago play host to the newest edition; opened in 2016, designed by Canadian architect Siamark Hariri, and built to represent the whole of South America. It is a masterpiece in light, form and serenity: a spectacular place, befitting its purpose of reflection and inspiration.
